I am currently undertaking my private pilots license. To date I have completed my General Flying Proficiency test, this allows me to fly solo and carry passengers within the training area of Bankstown Airport which extends as far as the base of the Blue Mountains and nearly down to Camden. So far I have completed one of my cross countries which was a beautiful flight down to Wollongong for lunch returning via Goulburn at 6500 ft.
I have to complete my final written exam
and will then embark on my final cross countries
Once those are completed I have one final flight exam and I am finished.
I am currently reading up all the manuals in preparation for the online
exam and flying to keep my license and privileges current.
June 3 : Went flying retained my currency and went out to the base of the blue mountains to practice some stalling ,steep turns, forced landings and a touch and go at Hoxton Park before landing back at Bankstown as the sun set! Fantastic!
July 7: Navex Bankstown - Warnervale - Katoomba - Bankstown. A great days flying , I flew the leg from Bankstown to Warnervale and what spectacular winter weather we had - the visability was excellent and the flying conditions perfect. The leg to Katoomba was cloudy and their was some minor turbulence, a tad chilly when we landed. All in all once we made it back to Bankstown it was a great trip.
